This past May, Johnny graduated with his Master’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Classical Vocal Performance from NYU Steinhardt. Johnny was selected to perform at graduation as a part of the Steinhardt Singers, a group of 8 students from the graduating class spanning across Undergraduate, Master’s, and PHD/DMA students within the vocal performance concentration. The group performed at the NYU Steinhardt Doctoral Convocation at the Jack H. Skirball Center for Performing Arts, NYU Steinhardt’s Graduation at Radio City Music Hall, and the NYU All College Commencement at Yankee Stadium. Furthermore, upon graduating, Johnny received the departmental award for “Outstanding Achievement in Graduate Vocal Performance: Classical,” for which one student from the graduating class is chosen.

This summer, Johnny will be appearing as the titular role, Billy Bigelow, in Hawaii Performing Arts Festival’s production of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s Carousel. The production will be directed by Kathleen Smith Belcher and music directed by Justin John Moniz. At the festival, Johnny is a member of their “Developing Singer Program” and will also make guest appearances at various concerts and masterclasses throughout the festival.
